Unimat 1 Classic imageTHE UNIMAT 1-Classic kit is designed for use by ages 8 and up and anyone else that has an interest in working with many materials from wood to  plastics, wax, acrylics and soft metals such as brass, copper and aluminum.

UNIMAT 1-Classic:  the machine tool kit from the CoolTool®

  • the well-known Classic
  • winner of multiple awards
  • on the market for more than 15 years
  • more than 100,000 machines currently in use

The UNIMAT 1-Classic opens new dimensions in applications and precision. In addition to the machines found in the Basic unit, the UNIMAT 1-Classic will amaze you with functions seen only in larger, more expensive lathes and mills.

For model-making hobbyists, professionals and technicians who wish to produce precise work pieces with an accuracy of up to 3/100mm, we recommend this kit.

Indispensable for machine makers is the three jaw chuck for positioning of a metal slug, the clamping jaw for accurate fixing of the included high-speed turning steel, and the three slides allowing for the ability to work in any angle and any position.

With UNIMAT 1-Classic "anyone can build a miniature size scale of the entire world."  Dollhouses with perfectly-scaled furniture, historic ship models with turned railings, or gear wheels and a new axle for the radio-controlled car.

Because of its modular construction system, UNIMAT 1-Classic can be assembled into six or more different machine tools, each no larger than a simple sheet of paper, within seconds. The machines have the same features as big industrial machines, the only differences are their size and the 12V drive. With 12,000 rpm, UNIMAT 1-Classic is capable of forming metal, wood, plastics and other materials into any shape.

The Classic kit makes 6 machines: components for a jigsaw, diverse variations of woodturning machines, a handheld sander, a stationary sander, and a handheld drilling machine.

For additional machine variations, the UNIMAT 1-Classic kit contains the components necessary for building-up to a stationary drilling machine, a metal turning machine, and a horizontal and vertical mill.  It also comes with a construction plan book, and the
    UNIMAT 1 handbook.

Because of UNIMAT’s unique component system you can carry the complete kit for all 6 machines in a briefcase. It works on a 12 volt transformer, and comes with all equipment necessary for wood turning, sawing, drilling, milling and metal turning.

     Jigsaw:

The powerful jigsaw can be used with plywood, solid wood, balsa wood, plastics and thin sheets of soft metal. It has a cutting capacity of up to 20mm balsa, 7mm solid wood. No annoying opening and clamping of the jigsaw blade when cutting windows and holes.

Main uses: fret work in plywood, precise sawing of tarsia in veneer wood, adjusting of printed boards, and many simple household repairs.

Special use: The only child-friendly jigsaw in the world. The short strokes allow for precise cutting, but can only vibrate the skin, thus not allowing the skin to be cut by the blade! Ideal for both your intricate work and the child's projects.

    Wood Turning Lathe:

The smallest lathe in the world creates elaborate pieces of turned wood. With a distance between centers of 135mm (expandable to 324mm) and a maximum centre height of 25mm (extendable to 50mm with option), the efficient 12V power machine works smoothly. Now the hobbyist has a lathe for those small work pieces, and youngsters from 6 years of age and up can participate in the first steps of woodworking without any danger.

Main use: scale masts, railing parts and gun barrels of historic ship models, a wide variety of turned furniture and dishes for the dollhouse, and miniature spinning wheels.

    Sander:

The stationary rotating sanding disc provides the final touch to your work pieces. In addition, you can now keep all of your tools and other everyday objects well sharpened. From your scissors to carving knives, the annoyance of dull blades is finally done away with.

    Sander

    Handheld Sander:

With a simple removal of a few handles from the machine bed, you now have a practical handheld sander. This variation works very well for those hard to reach places. Finally, the spots of rust on that good old 1973 Volkswagen Beetle can be removed.

    Handheld Sander

    Handheld Drill:

Just replace the sanding disc with a drill (0.5 to 6mm), fix it with a collet, and you have the perfect tool to reach those hidden places that need drilling.

    Metal Turning Lathe:

Turn soft metal just like a toolmaker. Longitudinal and cross slides with mm-scaled hand-wheels allow for precise work of up to an accuracy of 0.03mm. Built with the same quality components as an expensive lathe, the UNIMAT 1 metal turning lathe gives the user the opportunity to make axels, rims, metal connectors and much more, both efficiently and effectively.

    Horizontal Mill:

The tool of choice for architectural models, groove and tongue connections, and other fittings. Collets with 0.5mm to 6mm diameter clamping range promote a true running for the milling tools.

Drill Press: Precise drilling in every conceivable angle. The machining center will allow for work on the X-, Y- and Z-axis. Three precise slides, two of which turn 360 degrees, allow for 3-dimensional work. This is a real source of enjoyment for the technician.

Vertical Mill: Assembled with the included HSS milling cutter, the drill press changes into a vertical mill. In addition, you can use virtually every commercial milling cutter, including end milling cutters and T-slot cutters up to a fixing diameter of 6mm.

In addition to the standard machines included in the kit, this UNIMAT 1-Classic modular system offers an unlimited variety of potential tool machines due to the wide range of available accessories.   A detailed description of our wide range of accessories is also included in the kits.

The Classic can be upgraded via the full MetalLine of accessories.  Within reason, any machine you can think of may be possible.  For special machines, any single part, up to the smallest screw, is available.  For the UNIMAT 1-Classic professional, a gear mill for building gear wheels is only the beginning.  The system even allows for the possible construction of a spiral mill.  The extensive information materials enable the interested user to take the first steps into the world of professional machine engineering.

    Milling your own gear wheels!

A very popular additional module for gearbox building is the UNIMAT 1 gear mill. Assembled like the vertical mill, you will need the following optional accessories not included in the Classic kit: the gear milling head, the dividing attachment for symmetric circle dividings, and a second countershaft. With this implement, you can make gear wheels and worm (helical) gears, out of wood (for historic clocks), plastic and metal.

The second countershaft can also be used as an additional transmission between the motor and gearbox for reducing or increasing torque and speed. A powerful circular saw can be used when combining a blade with the increased torque provided with a second countershaft.

We offer longer machine beds (up to 1m) and slides for those who feel they would like to handle larger scale projects.  UNIMAT 1 is THE CoolTool®, unique, versatile, easy-to-use, and technically developed for unlimited possibilities for building-up.  The product also comes with a five year warranty.

Only the creativity of the user can determine the boundaries of UNIMAT 1-Classic.
